Volunteers from Small Hands Philippines joined in the medical mission conducted by Task Force on Urban Conscientization (TFUC) in Brgy. 105 Tondo, Manila last June 26, 2016.
More than three hundred residents (mostly children) benefited from the said mission. Services provided includes free consultation and distribution of free vitamins and medicines as recommended by the doctors.
The event is first of a series of medical missions to be conducted by TFUC on different urban poor communities within Metro Manila until the end of the year.
Barangay 105 is a community whose area is used as dumping ground for toxic coal stockpiles. Due to the health hazards they are being exposed to, the residents are engaged in a battle to have these harmful substances removed.
