The core members of Small Hands Philippines are traveling to Basey, Western Samar in the last week of May to help build houses.

Six months after Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan) ravaged central Philippines, many towns and villages in the area are still in the recovery phase. Good-hearted individuals from around the country and around the world have been helping the affected provinces to recover from the death and destruction to a new and hopeful beginning.

We at Small Hands have been coordinating with NCCP (National Council of Churches in the Philippines) and ACT-Alliance so that we can participate in their rehabilitation projects. They have generously allowed us to be a part of their projects and for that we are very thankful.

The area of our mission will be in Barangay Salvacion, Jinamoc Island, Basey, Western Samar. We are still waiting for more information from NCCP but we are already preparing for the trip. We know it is going to be a lot more challenging than most of our past operations but we are all excited and eager to go.
